djrbliss discovered the kernel exploit that he calls motofail2go. This was unbelievably easy to achieve namely thanks to two individuals: djrbliss and mattlgroff. Today I rooted my Verizon Wireless DROID RAZR HD (JB 4.1.1). Hopefully this will be followed by a rash of awesome new ROMS for the RAZR HD.
I know there are numerous sites that provide the details to unrooting your XT926 ( download stock rom, edit xml to remove getvar, install RSD-lite and flash while in fastboot) but Matt's utility takes care of all of that in a single download with a few button clicks.ĭan Rosenberg has cracked the Motorola bootloader for rooted phones only. I know, very sad, but it was still under warranty so I sent it back - but first I reused Matt's awesome utility to wipe it and reinstall the stock system, kernel, radio and recovery. Also my phone's touchscreen recently stopped working, out of the blue. I was hoping i could get access to the memory as a whole and run a file recovery on it but from what you are saying i suppose that is impossible.Matt Groff has updated Droid RAZR HD Utility to version 1.20, it includes Dan's motochopper and Motopocalypse a new custom CWM recovery by Hashcode (of safestrap).
And about the things i need from it, i needed a single text document BUT at this point i wiped the phone. The backup issue was i had a local server saving files but it unbound after awhile. But this way I never had to worry about files being lost like ever unless its between the last backup and me not having wifi to backup Then i have a VM machine for each one that i run weekly to pull it down from Google drive to my server which gets backed up. I have that set on my Moms, Wifes, and my phone. It can sync all your files to google drive. Ever since I have had TWRP to always copy my files.įor the future, you may want to look into Google Drive Sync. I had to do a ADB push command a looooong time ago on my Droid X when i changed the boot image. Also idk if you can just list a folder and see what is in it either. There are ways to do it though ADB but you will be doing a pull command for every file. Otherwise I'd say Flash TWRP and you can copy files to a OTG drive. Yea too bad there isn't a bootloader unlock for it. Otherwise it communicates fine with the device. i tried this, i made a batch file for my image and included the right number of lines for the sparsechunks etc and btw my device is detected in adb fastboot, but thing is when it tries to flash any of the images it says FAILED (remote error) and the error above is invalid signed image preflash validation failed.
You can also try the Universal ABD drivers here
Install that, then go to the install folder and copy the Fastboot.exe to the folder you extracted the ZIP firmware too. Also make sure you delete a like that says %fastboot% erase Media or SD card or something like that unless you want it to wipe out EVERYTHING (Which I usually like to do time to time).Īlso you will need to download fastboot.exe which you can download here as well along with some other ADB drivers. If it looks like that then we don't need RSD Lite. %fastboot% flash system system.img_sparsechunk10 %fastboot% flash system system.img_sparsechunk9
%fastboot% flash system system.img_sparsechunk8 %fastboot% flash system system.img_sparsechunk7 %fastboot% flash system system.img_sparsechunk6 %fastboot% flash system system.img_sparsechunk5 %fastboot% flash system system.img_sparsechunk4 %fastboot% flash system system.img_sparsechunk3 %fastboot% flash system system.img_sparsechunk2 %fastboot% flash system system.img_sparsechunk1 If there is right click on it and go to edit. I know a while back I also had issues with RSD Lite picking up my Turbo.
